6. Fidel Castro 13/07/1926 (maybe this year)
7. Arial Sharon 27/02/1928 (he's basically a zombie, but they might turn off the life support this year)

9. Arthur C. Clarke 16/12/1917 (sad to say, but he's getting old)

A mix of old men and young women.

Goodness! All my “clever” picks have been picked by faster and cleverer players. Sigh! I’m tempted to just list last years picks, but that ain’t so much fun. Is there anything in the rules about having two lists? If not, here goes…

The new ten:

1. Britney Spears. [I was debating between Brits and Amy. The wish factor won. In my opinion Amy can write and sing.]

2. Ariel Sharon. [I have to have a sure bet.]

3. Fidel Castro. [Picking Suhatro as well as Sharon seemed like cheating. And even if Fidel dies we may not hear about it.]

4. Barack Obama [If he becomes the Dem candidate, sadly some red neck's bound to go manic.]

5. Margaret Thatcher [Mr Dodo's one contribution to this list]

6. Ali Hassan Abd al-Majid al-Tikriti (Chemical Ali) [OK, I’m sort of cheating, but he has avoided two execution deadlines so far, so he’s not a cert.]

7. Robert Clary [Mr Dodo got the complete Hogan’s Heroes (groan) for Christmas. Most of the actors are already dead, the rest I’ll put in my wish list]

8. Margaret Whitlam [Another Maraget, but with opposing political views.]

9. Bert Newton [Just to get him of the box]

10. Donatella Versace [A possible future Cassandra (Dr Who) if all that botox or skin cancer doesn’t get her first.]

Last year’s ten:

1. Lady Flo Bjelke-Petersen, famous pumpkin scone maker, former Senator(!) and wife of Joe
2. Tom Uren, former Minister in the Whitlam & Hawke Govts.
3. Stephen Hawking, scientist
4. Ronnie Biggs, train robber (I gather no rules about picking some of the same people?)
5. Mickey Rooney, actor [let's put on a show!]
6. George Bush (senior), former US President and other unmentionable things
7. Dame Elizabeth Murdoch, doer of good works and unfortunate mother
8. Prince Phillip, consort of the Queen of England
9. Gore Vidal, author and sometime political activist
10. Paul McCartney, singer/songwriter
